HarperCoillins’ publisher Mary Rennie seeded the idea for the Capital Files. It was early 2018 and Mary – who’d published the Shadow Game in 2016 – contacted Steve and Chris to gauge their interest in having HarperCollins publish a book combining all three Secret City novels into one. However, Steve and Chris struck an early snag in their eagerness to please their publisher – editing three books into one was a massive task!
Enter editing whizz Amanda O’Connell who took on the mountainous task of killing off multiple darlings to ensure the Capital Files could come in at a manageable 542 pages.
Capital Files was also turned into an Audio Book, available through Audible, with actor Henry Nixon bringing his dulcet tones to the task.
